Time is precious to us and we wanted to give you some tips on the best way to minimise the time you spend maintaining your garden. Particularly if you are not a keep gardener! So we want to help you on your next project by providing our top tips for designing a low maintenance garden.
Choosing Low-Maintenance or Drought-Tolerant Plants:
Select plants that are well suited to the local climate, soil conditions, and sunlight levels. Native plants often require less maintenance as they are adapted to the local environment and can survive drought tolerant conditions. Now we wanted to mention hedging here while discussing plants. Heding plants are not low maintenance. So choosing something that you do not have trim ever week or two in summer helps!
Mulching Your Gardens:
Apply a layer of mulch around plants to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and regulate soil temperature. This reduces the need for weeding and conserves water usage.
Implementing Automatic Irrigation Systems:
Installing an automatic irrigation system such as drip irrigation to ensure precise and consistent watering, thereby minimising water usage and manual watering.
